The objective of American College of Veterinary Microbiologists (ACVM) Residencies is to promote expertise and proficiency in a Recognized Veterinary Specialty (RVS) within the ACVM.
Recognized Veterinary Specialties (RVS) include:
- Bacteriology/mycology
- Immunology
- Virology
- Parasitology
Requirements and Standards
Residencies are required to meet specific standards for qualification of a resident for board examination through Route 3. Residency programs combined with PhD or MS programs meet qualifications for application through Routes 1 or 2, respectively.

- Appendix A - Program Registration Information - Route 3
- Appendix B - New Resident Application - Route 3
- Appendix C - Evaluation of Progress Checklist - Route 3
